Leveling Up in Life

Money, power, and luxury are often seen as every man’s fantasy, yet chasing these desires can leave us feeling empty and lost. Life isn’t just a journey; it can be viewed as an Action RPG, where every decision and challenge shapes our unique adventure. Let’s redefine our mindset and embrace the idea that each of us is the hero of our own quest.

Your Character: Stats, Classes, and Skills

Just like in any RPG game you have three stats in life that are beneficial to the growth of your character. Stats, Classes, and Skills. Every player in the game starts at level 5, with base stats that grow as you experience life and learn from your adventures. Think of these stats as your core attributes—Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma. As you age, each birthday represents a level-up, giving you new abilities, improved stats, and a broader perspective on your journey.

Here is my current stats:

My Stats at Level 36

Here’s the information in a table format:

Here is a pic of my character:

These stats that I possess are a product of my overall skills and quest that I conducted from the level of 5. Keep in mind that you control your stats. Just like in any RPG game you can learn new skills and passive skills to increase your power. Imagine a 5 year old learning at that age how to program a computer or build a robot. Now imagine that power at level 36.

Classes and Subclasses

In life, much like in an RPG, everyone has a class that defines their role in the world. You might be a Warrior, Mage, Druid, Paladin, or Healer, each with its unique strengths and weaknesses. Within these classes, there are subclasses—specializations that further refine your abilities. My character class is that of an Artificer or Wizard in some media.

if you are someone like myself, whom approaches life with a blend of logic, creativity, and resilience, you might identify as a Mage with a subclass of Artificer or Wizard. These roles emphasize your intelligence, wisdom, and creative problem-solving skills, making you a formidable character in the game of life.

Skills

Skills…especially for a male character are very vital for survival in the game. The more skills and passive skills a character has the more powerful the character truly is and can become. Skills are determined by a variety of things such as belief systems, hobbies, knowledge obtained through the journey in the game. Here is an example of my Skills and passive skill sets.

Here are the Skills and Passive Skills separated into two tables:

Skills

Skill NameDescription
Martial StrikeA powerful attack drawing from your martial arts training, deals high physical damage.

Based on my beliefs and skillsets, here are two tables—one for my special attacks and another table for my base attacks in the context of my life as an RPG character.

Life’s Main Quest: Achieving Balance

Stop and ask yourself this question: What is the meaning of life? The answer isn’t something handed down in a neat little package—it’s deeply personal, a journey you carve out for yourself. For me, it’s all about balance. Balance is about finding a steady rhythm in your daily life, a harmony between what you need to do and what you love to do. It’s the fuel that keeps your inner fire going and gives you a reason to keep moving forward.

But here’s the thing: 10% of our thinking is going toward comparing ourselves to others. we often get sidetracked trying to measure our lives against others, like there’s a universal scoreboard we’re all supposed to be competing on. The truth is, that’s the quickest way to lose sight of your own path. Instead, focus on what you can control, the “presets” of your life. What lights you up? What routines or ambitions give you purpose and peace? That extra 10%…that is your balance, and it’s going to look different from anyone else’s. Don’t waste it comparing yourself to other men. Finding that balance isn’t always instant; sometimes it’s a process, a little trial and error; Most men whom are successful don’t find it till after their early 30’s. Stay patient and keep pushing, you’ll uncover what makes your life worth living—your own meaning, shaped by you and no one else.

Side Quests and Hidden Quests

Life has its own set of side quests and hidden challenges. Just like in games like Final Fantasy 7 or Grand Theft Auto, you’ll find countless small tasks waiting to be tackled, sometimes in the most unexpected places. Think of those side missions and hidden quests in the games—where completing them rewards you with better weapons, extra cash, or a sweet new ride. In real life, these quests might look like babysitting your neighbor’s sick cat, washing a friend’s car, or volunteering with a group like Habitat for Humanity. Each of these tasks, no matter how small, can level up your real-world skills, build connections, or just give you a bit more “XP” to get through the bigger challenges. You never know; the smallest quests can often have the biggest impact on your game. Don’t pass on working at that McDonalds or working that Uber…never know where that may take you. Many big named people were discovered working at small jobs.

Other Players: Allies & Villains

In this game of life, we’re all players with unique builds. Some characters will become your lovers and lifelong companions, while others may see you as an enemy, fighting for what they believe is rightfully theirs. It’s a reality that some players harbor biases against certain builds, classes, types, or even genders, and tensions can run high, with some willing to go so far as to try to eliminate others based on these differences.

But consider this: without antagonists, what would our stories be? Each character has their own narrative, purpose, and strengths that evolve over time. While some may seem stronger at different stages, our ultimate goal is to unite as a team to confront the final boss together. We’re all in this journey together, and it’s collaboration that will lead us to victory.

Boss Battles: Life’s conflicts

Life is full of hidden quests, side missions, and epic boss battles that shape us along the way. Imagine it like Final Fantasy or GTA, where completing smaller tasks—like helping a neighbor or volunteering—builds up experience and opens unexpected doors. Then come the big conflicts, the boss fights against dark players or life’s own antagonists, where we face loneliness, workplace drama, or personal struggles such as dating and career layoffs. These are more than hardships; they’re the challenges that add real meaning and purpose to our game. Without them, there’s no growth, no leveling up. Embrace the quest to find balance, even in the toughest moments, and remember that every encounter—whether a side mission or boss battle—is there to make you stronger, wiser, and more prepared for what’s next.

The Final Battle: Overcoming the Sagon

See that image above? Yep… him. He’s the final boss in this game—an embodiment of darkness itself. Think of that Key and Peele sketch where the guy describes a drug so strong it traps you in a room with all your worst fears. This boss is worse; creates those rooms, feeds on your doubts, and turns fears into his most powerful weapons and then it multiplies this times the largest number in the universe. With over a million HP, he’s the battle we all eventually face, and we’re in it together. We have to be mentally strong and fully geared up to withstand his attacks, knowing that with resilience and unity, he’s beatable.

Conclusion: Embrace the Adventure

All and all what you need to keep in mind is that life is an adventure. The difficulty setting is determine by you and how you look at life as well as how you choose to live your life. Everyone has the opportunity to be the best player in the game. Does not mean that you will be necessarily number 1 but you can be just as great as the top player. You have to be the best of you. Be patient, take your time. Remember the game is dynamic. No character will have the same path so each character will reach his or her best at different times in the game. Just live learn and have and enjoy the adventure.
